The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has stated that the cost of living in Ghana has declined significantly, noting that the evidence supports this observation.
The Minister’s comments come amid ongoing public discussions about inflation, consumer prices, and the government’s efforts to stabilise the economy and reduce the financial pressure on households.
Speaking at the Government Accountability Series in Accra on Wednesday January 14, Kwakye Ofosu said the decrease in prices is widely recognised by Ghanaians.
“The cost of living has come down. The evidence speaks to the same and this is not exaggeration or hyperbole. Everybody in Ghana appreciates this,” he said.
He added, however, that more progress is needed. “Of course, can more be done? Why not. I would like things to go down even further. It eases the burden on all of us, but we cannot dispute what is obvious,” Kwakye Ofosu remarked.
