Controversial Akufo-Addo Bench Nominee Continues Self-imposed Ban –

A law lecturer and public official Dr. Poku Adusei continues to ban himself from social media after a series of posts of his started trending since last month.

The controversial lawyer and academic whose nomination to the bench as appeals court judge was met with uproar and mockery has since early April disappeared from social media platforms where he engaged in party political and social commentary.

His appointment was described as “crass and silly” by appendages of IMANI Africa who have since withdrawn their advocacy against him after a backroom negotiation.

“An appeals court nominee should be brave enough to leave a record of his own statements on social media for all to see and judge his character. Others have been on social media and in the media for years and have the respect of everyone. If he didn’t ha e anything to hide, why has he deactivated his socials?” One of the IMANI criticism read.

Dr Poku Adusei is celebrated for his academic achievements, including a Ph.D. in law from McGill University in Canada. He previously held positions such as Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Standards Authority and lecturer at the University of Ghana School of Law where some “rumours” trail  him.

Despite his credentials, Dr Adusei has been criticised for his vocal opposition to government critics and his controversial remarks on national issues.

His aggressive social media approach, including derogatory comments toward citizens with dissenting views, has stirred significant controversy about his nomination.
