GIS to stage “The Sound Of ” at National Theatre on March 19 and 20

The Ghana International School (GIS) is bringing its annual musical to the National Theatre on March 19 and 20, 2024.

This year, they’ll present a beloved classic: “The Sound of .” The cast will reflect the school’s inclusive spirit, featuring students from various backgrounds and cultures.

In an interview with the press, the principal of the school Frank Amponsah-Mensah explained that GIS aims to provide a well-rounded education and that co-curricular activities like musicals play a vital role alongside academics.

He added that this is their second time performing “The Sound of .”

“For Ghana International School, one of the things that we aim to do is to make sure that our students get a complete school experience by the time they’re leaving school. The school is not only about academics, of course, we emphasise academics and our records are excellent every year, but we also know that co-curricular activities contribute to making a whole student”. Frank said

“So these musicals are part of the offer that we have so our students get the opportunity to be involved in these essentially non-academic aspects which I dare say helps in their academics. This is the second time we are doing the musical “The Sound Of ” He added

This exciting two-day event won’t just feature GIS students. Other senior high schools, including Accra Girls’ and Labone, will also be performing.
