Don’t Subject Yourselves to Politicians During Election Year – Presby Moderator Tells Graduates |

The Moderator and the Chancellor of the Presbyterian University – Ghana, Rt. Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante has advised graduates of the University to be circumspect in their engagement with politicians who for their parochial interest persuade the youth during election year to engage in acts that bring the country into disrepute.

Addressing the 17th Congregation of the University at Kwahu-Abetifi, Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante said due to the enormous potentials graduates possess, some politicians use tactical means to explore and tap into their potentials with the intent of tooling them to perpetrate acts which lead to chaos.

A total of 557 undergraduates made of 256 males and 301 females graduated this year.

He advised them to stay away from such politicians and abstain from acts but rather let the training and skills they have acquired have a positive impact in their societies.

The Moderator further charged them not to join the “Unemployed Graduates Association’ but prove to the world of the holistic education they’ve received from the University.

Concerning the high level of indiscipline in the country, the Moderator suggested that the Ministry of Education should consider introducing a course in addition to STEM education that deals with moral aspect of life.

The Vice Chancellor of Presbyterian University – Ghana, Prof. John Ofosu-Anim also entreated the graduates to continue seeking knowledge through continuous learning and pursuing higher education.

The Vice Chancellor challenged them to contribute their quota in addressing the menace in society.
