Discrimination Among Mentally Challenged Should Cease –  Heart for Disabled Foundation Urges Ghanaians |

The Heart for Disabled Foundation has urged Ghanaians to stop the stigmatization and discrimination among the mentally challenged people in the mental awareness creation.

The Foundation creates awareness through music of mental health societies, orphanages and disabilities.

The President of the Heart for Disabled Foundation, Elder Benjamin Osei Adu in an interview with Peace FM News during the music album launch and mental awareness creation, stated that the discrimination among mentally ill should be stopped because it can happen to anyone in every aspect of life.

He stated that the use of the music in the promotion of good health among mentally challenged persons is what makes them different among other foundations.

He said that there are people who can gain their freedom from mental illness with just help from an individual, and the reason why most of the mentally challenged persons are on the streets is because of stigmatization and discrimination and urged individuals who indulge in such practices to stop.

Adding to this, Elder Benjamin Adu appealed to all stakeholders and Ghanaians to come to their aid in promoting the mental awareness creation.
