GES Honours Tafo Kyidomhene For Providing Educational Infrastructure Support To Her Community |

The Eastern Regional Education Service Directorate has honored Nana Adepa Yeboah Amponsah I, Kyedomhene of Akyem Tafo for her selfless support to the Ghana Education Service, especially for the school children in her enclave.

Nana Adepa, some years ago, donated a fully furnished ultramodern KG complex to aid the best upbringing of children in her area.

Notwithstanding that, she has also provided a lot support to teachers and children including schorlaship for needy but brilliant children.

Nana Adepa Amponsah Yeboah I, Kyedom hene of Akyem Tafo’s effort and contribution towards quality standard academic environment was highly recognized and appreciated by the Directorate as the impact has been great.

She was honoured amongst 21 other awardees both teaching and non-teaching staff drawn from various performing school’s during the maiden Eastern Regional Excellence Awards organized by the Ghana Education Service.

In her appreciative speech, Nana Adepa Amponsah Yeboah hinted that better upbringing of the next generation should be a shared and collective responsibility and not solely government’s alone.

She expressed her appreciation for the recognition by GES and called on other well-doing Ghanaians to stretch their hands and support good course.

Guest speaker for the awards ceremony in Koforidua who is the Registrar of Ghana Scholarships Secretariat, Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, on his part, commended the hardworking teachers for their outstanding contributions towards quality education.

He highlighted government’s policies and reforms aimed at improving best education delivery in the country as steps in the right direction which need a collective effort from both teachers and students to make it a success.

He lauded the Regional Directorate for the motivation and urged all to take advantage of the opportunity.

He also commended the Kyidomhene of Akyem Tafo, Nana Adepa Amponsah Yeboah 1, for her immense contribution to education in her area.
