“This injustice will be confronted, because Ghana is not Accra” – Ablakwa fires

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has said that this injustice will be confronted because Ghana is not Accra.

According to him, Since 29th March, the National Identification Authority (NIA) office in North Tongu has been unable to print Ghana cards for 1,445 of the people in his constituency who registered for the cards.

He therefore questions why in view of this mess, people’s SIM cards should be disconnected of no fault of theirs but that of the NIA.

“Why should their phones be disconnected?”

It may be recalled that the deadline for sim registration in Ghana has been concluded on July 31st 2022 forever most people are pleading for the day to be extended because they haven’t been able to get their Ghana card to register their SIM which is the sole ID for the sim registration.

Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa feels this is unfair to his constituents and most Ghanaians as well who haven’t been able to get their Ghana card of no fault of theirs but the NIA in their districts or constituencies, who haven’t been able to print them out for them.

He further stated that Ghana is not Accra, because in Accra we have access to power and everything and so printing of cards won’t be difficult but there are people in villages and remote areas who don’t have access to the amenities that we have in the city and therefore are disadvantaged to get what people in Accra get.

Given this, the lawmaker of North Tongu feels that it is injustice and must be confronted because leaders are taking the whole Ghana to be the city Accra which is not so because Ghana has 16 regions but we are not taking that into consideration.
