Messages Some Banks Are Sending To Their Customers Before E-levy Starts Tomorrow

E-levy will officially start and be in action tomorrow, 1st May, 2022. The E-levy will be a 1.5% charge on some electronic transactions in the country. For this reason, some banks have sent messages to their customers alerting them of this new government policy.

Below are some messages from some banks in Ghana.

Fedelity Bank

“Dear Valued Customer, Effective May 1, 2022, the E-levy will apply to instant electronic transactions. Kindly visit https://bit.ly/36X4Pqi for more information”

UBA

“Dear Cherished customer, Please be informed that E-levy charges starts from Sunday, 01/05/2022. Please note the levy applies to electronic money transfers, wallet to wallet, bank to wallet and bank to bank transactions. Visit www.ubaghana.com for more. Thanks”

ABSA Bank

“Dear customer, we wish to notify you that the E-levy charge takes effect from Sunday May 01, 2022. Kindly note that the levy applies to electronic money transfers, wallet to wallet and bank to wallet transactions. Kindly visit absa.com.gh to learn more”

GCB

It could be seen that there are several similarities in the messages above. Bank to bank transactions will attract e-levy. Momo to bank and vice versa will also attract e-levy.
