Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, the overlord of Dormaa is assumed by many to be a partisan traditional leader. Many have tagged him as an NDC chief who will do anything to see John Mahama in power. Indeed, some of the verbal utterances of the Dormaahene has fueled these assumptions. Prior to the 2020 elections the king made many remarks that got many thinking whether he was a king for all or an NDC king.
Well, Nana Agyemang Badu has also maintained that he is not partisan but rather a lover of those who seek to develop the country and his domain. In a new vide posted on the official Facebook page of Abanpredease TV, also called Dormaahene TV, the king is heard saying that he has no political affiliations. He explained that if a president performs well he will praise the person.
He also noted that he respects President Akufo-Addo and will do nothing to offend him. He cited the example that he is in nose masks because the order was from the president. According to Agyemang Badu II all he wants is a president who will develop the country and also bring development to Dormaa. He added that if he praises John Mahama then it means he has helped the people of Dormaa and not because he is a partisan king.
“I have only one political party and will not coerce anyone to join my party. I will support any leader who brings development. The only party I have is Dormaa party. This is a party that will develop Dormaa” Nana Agyemang Badu said.
