Governor Udom Emmanuel Signs 700 Billion Naira 2023 Budget Into Law

Mr. Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa Ibom State, has officially consented to the N700 billion 2023 ‘Budget of Completion’. This is greater than the original N697.005 figure presented to the legislature by Mr. Emmanuel; this was revised upwards by 0.4%, amounting to N2.999 billion which will be invested into projects such as road infrastructure and recurrent expenditure of N344,005 million and capital expenditure of N355,995 million respectively.

Governor Emmanuel expressed his gratitude to the State Legislature, Budget Office, and all other pertinent agencies at an expanded SEC meeting held on Friday in the EXCO Chambers of Government House in Uyo for their help in ensuring the timely passage of the 2023 budget along with his administration’s accomplishments across multiple areas of progress.

I am grateful to the Speaker and Legislators of the State Assembly for their unwavering support in ensuring 4,300 Inter-ministerial Direct Labour projects reach successful completion. I firmly believe that through collective action, we will continue to benefit our people and our community.
