The English Premier League returned back to action yesterday and as such, a lot of actions were displayed.

Tottenham were in action against Southampton yesterday but, could not secure maximum points to narrow the gap on Arsenal who are in fourth position in the premier league table. Tottenham who defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 few days ago were held to a dissappointing 1-1 draw by Southampton even though they were a man down. Harry Kane’s penalty cancelled out Ward-Prowse 25th minute opener.

West Ham returned back to winning ways yesterday after they defeated Watford away from home. The game was a tough one for both sides but, West Ham held their cool and they emerged victorious from the encounter winning with a 4-1 scoreline thanks to goals from Soucek, Benrahma, Noble and Vlasic.Crystal Palace on the other hand returned back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over bottom placed Norwich City thanks to three first half goals from Edouard, Mateta and Schlupp. Few days ago, they lost with the same scoreline to Tottenham.

Leicester City pulled off a surprising 1-0 victory over Liverpool thanks to a goal from Ademola Lookman. What makes it quite surprising was the way they were hammered by Manchester City few days ago.

Mohamed Salah missed a penalty in the first half and Liverpool were made to pay, as Ademola Lookman scored the only goal of the game. Yesterday’s victory makes it the first time Leicester City have won three home games in a row in two years.

Liverpool are now trailing behind Manchester City by six points after their 1-0 defeat in the hands of Leicester City. Tottenham are in sixth position, two points above Manchester United. Leicester City moved to ninth position with their surprising victory yesterday, with same points as Wolves.

What do you have to say about this? Do you think Liverpool can still displace Manchester City from their first position in the premier league table? What do you have to say about the likelihood of Tottenham finishing in top four this season?
