Following the recent spread of the South African Omicron Virus, the World Health Organization (WHO), has said that, the omicron variant of the corona virus may change pandemic course without action.

In the latest alert, the Director General of the World Health Organization, Mr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Certain features of omicron, including its global spread and large number of mutations, suggest it could have a major impact on the course of the pandemic…and that, we can prevent omicron from becoming global crisis.

Mr. Ghebreyesus said this whiles speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, December 7, 2021.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has again asked countries to make more vaccines available to poorer countries around the world, where inoculation rates are low.

The Executive Director of the World Health Organization’s Emergencies Program, Mr. Mike Ryan has also said that, while omicron appears to have higher transmissibility than the delta variant, it doesn’t mean the virus is unstoppable.

The new Omicron variant has now spread to about 57 countries, and appearing to be more transmissible than previous strains. According to the world Health Organization, countries must vaccinate as fast as possible, and to keep measures in place in order to protect people from infection, and that, the new Omicron virus is changing, but our collective resolve must not change.

Remember Corona Virus is real, protect yourself and others, and to get vaccinated now.
