“He Bribe Them” — Mixed Reactions As Forbes Award Prez Akuffo-Addo As The 2021 African Of The Year

Forbes magazine, a global media company, focusing on business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership and lifestyle has officially, named the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo as the “2021 African of the Year“.

President Akufo-Addo has formally received the “African of the Year Award” from Forbes Africa Magazine. He was presented with the award on Thursday by the management of the Forbes Africa Magazine. The President took to his Twitter page to announce the good news.

The President of the US National Bar Association, Judge Carlos E. Moore, also presented a “Lifetime Achievement Award” in recognition of his “initiative to provide free quality education to students” which “will help with the broader development” of Ghana, as highlighted in Goal 4 of the UN Sustainable Development goals.According to Frederic Van de vyver, the Executive Director for Forbes Magazine, West Africa, they did not encounter any difficult in this year’s African of the Year Award because Prez Akuffo-Addo distinguished himself, particularly, through his handling of the Covid19 pandemic and his successful bid to have Ghana as the host country for the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) secretariat.

On Instagram today has been a mixed reactions from netizens concerning the award. Some congratulated the President and was even asking for 4 more for him while others too was not happy with the decision by Forbes. They thinks there is a cheat somewhere as one reacted saying “he bribe them for the award”.
