Former Kotoko Coach Chases First Win in Four Matches

Former Asante Kotoko coach, Maxwell Konadu will lead his side to look for victory at their newly adopted home ground, El Wak Sports Stadium.

The Royals host Berekum Chelsea in match week seven at the venue due to renovation works at the Accra Sports Stadium that’s expected to go on for two weeks. Legon Cities FC started the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season on an interesting note after posting a goalless draw against defending league champions, Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium. They managed to beat premier league returnees, Real Tamale United in the second week at the Accra Sports Stadium. They squeezed a 3-2 victory against the pride of the North to secure a first three points of the season.

In week three, they suffered a slim defeat against Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium in a home clash. They were beaten 1-0 by the “Dade Boys.” In week four, they travelled to the Sogakope Park as guests of West Africa Football Academy which they managed to put up an impressive performance. They held WAFA to a 2-2 draw at their own backyard.

They went in for a week five clash against Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium but unfortunately, they lost by a slim margin. Yahaya Mohammed’s thunderbolt separates the two sides moving into week six. In week six, they were equally impressive away to AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium. They managed to hold the Miners to a goalless draw to claim five points. Their next opponent are Berekum Chelsea at the El Wak Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 12.
