Abdourahamane Diallo, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) representative in Ghana and some members of his office recently paid a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II.

The visit was a means of having UNESCO express gratitude to the King for his support to the organisation for the past years.

In his address to the King, Mr. Diallo said the King’s support for education and science has been remarkable.

He acknowledged the King’s role in the preservation of the Ga culture as he sought a sustenance of the gesture.

Pledging his support to the delegation, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II emphasised the need for partnership to revive the Ga Dangbe kingdom.

He said the Ga Dangbe girl-child continues to be an endangered specie, and a collaboration between the Ga Kingdom and UNESCO could help in her rescue.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II took the opportunity to initiate the delegation into the Ga State by hanging the sacred hyssop over their necks.
