The Dowen College management has bereaved with the family of Sylvester Oromoni who was allegedly beaten by fellow students leading to his death. Some of the suspects they say are currently on the run.
A statement on Sunday described the demised as a “beacon of light” who was admired by all. It pointed out that the “unfortunate incident and death” requires a thorough and proper inquiry.

Dowen College said it is fully committed to an investigation and assisting the authorities to get to the bottom of the tragic incident.
“At this time of intense grief and suffering, tensions are high and emotions are raw”.
“We pray that God, who alone knows how to comfort the sorrowing, will comfort Sylvester’s family and all those who loved and associated him.” The school statement said.
The statement assured parents that procedures are being taken to ensure the safety and security of the wards of the school.
