The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Junior, has indicated that based on what he is seeing and hearing, the minority group in Parliament is fully aware that if they don’t act in the public interest with regards to the 2022 budget, its base will rebel.

Kwesi Pratt made this statement on ‘ALHAJI & ALHAJI’ on Pan Africa television this morning, 4th December 2021, when he gave his opinion on the brouhaha ongoing in Parliament about the approval and the rejection of the 2022 budget statement.

According to Kwesi Pratt, last night, he had a conversation with some of the leaders of the minority, and they said the minority is united and working together and that they will insist that they serve the public interest.

Kwesi Pratt indicated that he raised the question of the 1% E-Levy that the minority was supposedly accepting, and he was told that as a matter of fact, it was on that basis that the negotiations broke down. So, he is sitting and waiting to see what the outcome of all this will become.

“This time around, I think that based on what I’m hearing and seeing, I think that the minority is fully conscious of the feelings at it’s base.”

He revealed that the minority is fully conscious of the fact that if they don’t act in the public interest, its base will rebel against the leadership.

“When people in the so-called minority especially, it’s leaders begin to see the groundswell of the depth of feelings of their base, and reacts to it, then we are moving somewhere.”

Kwesi Pratt advised that all political leaders whether they are in power or opposition should be listening to their base.

“In fact, if the government was listening to the NPP’s base, some of these things that are happening will not be happening because I also talk to people from the NPP’s side, and I Know the level of disunity among the NPP itself.” Kwesi Pratt added.
