Rocky Dawuni while speaking in an interview on Citi TV threw more light on the requirements for one to be tagged as a Grammy nominee. The two-time Grammy Awards nominee stated that there are differences between grabbing a nomination and also featuring on a song that has been nominated at the Grammy.

According to him, the Recording Academy has stated the requirements of being a Grammy nominee on their website. hence we cannot be creating our own rules and be assuming an artiste who featured on a project nominated at Grammys as a nominee.

“I see some of our media houses too not doing their due diligence because if you are a reputable media house, and you are also taking information that is not really the right information, then it diminishes, he added.

According to the Recording Academy, Stonebwoy was nominated for his appearance as a featured artist on three albums published in the previous year that “included at least 51 percent playing time of new reggae recordings.” Etana’s “Pamoja,” Sean Paul’s “Live N Livin,” and Jesse Royal’s “Royal” all received nominations in the “Best Reggae Album” category.

Well, Stonebwoy whom we believe has chanced at Rocky Dawuni’s assertions has taken a swipe at him in his haste to take the Grammy nominee tag off him.

Taking to his Snapchat, he wrote; “Chairman is so quick to remove credit on a young kid! We know them o.. but we think say dem change o chai dem never change”.
