Cristiano Ronaldo, 36 wants to set new record by playing at the 2026 World Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United and Portugal superstar, wants to play for Portugal until the 2026 World Cup when he will be 41 years old.

Ronaldo has already had a stellar international career with Portugal, winning Euro 2016 and becoming the country’s all-time leading international scorer.

According to a new SunSport report, he is eager to compete in the 2026 tournament, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Ronaldo and rival Lionel Messi will compete in their fifth World Cup next year in Qatar.

They will be joining German legend Lothar Matthaus and Mexican duo Rafael Marquez and Antonio Carbajal in doing so.

If Ronaldo can play in the 2026 World Cup, he will be adding to a long list of records broken by the former Juventus and Real Madrid superstar.
