Sept. 15 (UPI) — Gwendoline Christie has joined the cast of Wednesday, Netflix’s upcoming live-action Addams Family series from director Tim Burton.

Christie will portray Larissa Weems, the principal at Nevermore Academy where Wednesday Addams attends.

Netflix says that the principal still has an axe to grind with her former classmate, Wednesday’s mother Morticia Addams.

Christie, best known for her role as Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones, joins Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia and Luis Guzmán as patriarch Gomez Addams.

Wednesday will run for eight episodes and follow the titular character as she attends Nevermore Academy where she will stop a monstrous killing spree and solve a mystery that involved her parents 25 years ago.

Burton is directing and executive producing. Al Gough and Miles Millar created the series and serve as showrunners and executive producers.

A second, animated Addams Family movie is coming to theaters and pay-per-view platforms on Oct. 1. The family will be embarking on a family vacation across the United States.

Chloë Grace Moretz voices Wednesday in the animated film with Charlize Theron as Morticia, Oscar Isaac as Gomez, Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton as Pugsley, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester and Snoop Dogg as Cousin It.
