Awako is a doubt for the game against Kamsar
Gladson Awako may not feature in Accra Hearts of Oak’s CAF Champions League on-off tie game against Kamsar.
The former Great Olympics star did not take part in Hearts’ defeat to Togolese champions and newly promoted side Accra Lions.
Hearts of Oak lost 1-0 to Togolese champions ASKO de Kara in club-friendly and suffered a 3-2 defeat to Accra Lions last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The midfielder has not trained with the team this week and sources close to the player have confirmed to the website that Awako is still battling a minor illness.
It is unclear whether the new signing will resume training later this week.
Accra Hearts of Oak SC will play CL Kamsar of Guinea in a single match on September 19, 2021, at the Accra Sports Stadium with the winner of the tie set to advance to the next stage of the 2021/22 Total Energies CAF Champions League.
