Sept. 3 (UPI) — Rick and Morty has found its live-action version of Rick.
The animated sci-fi comedy series shared a teaser Friday featuring Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd as Rick Sanchez.
The video shows Rick (Lloyd) and his grandson Morty, played by It actor Jaeden Martell, emerge from a portal into a live version of Rick’s workshop, The Garage.
“Morty, we’re home!” Lloyd says as Rick.
The caption of “C-132” references Dimension C-132, one of the universes in the Rick and Morty multiverse.
Rick and Morty will air its Season 5 finale Sunday on Adult Swim. It is unknown if Lloyd and Martell will appear in the episode or if the pair were just tapped for the promo.
Lloyd played Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown in the Back to the Future movies. The characters of Rick and Morty are loosely based on Doc and Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox).
Rick and Morty is created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. Roiland voices Rick and Morty on the show.
