FX renews ‘Reservation Dogs’ for a second season

Sept. 3 (UPI) — FX has renewed comedy series Reservation Dogs for a second season.

The renewal comes as Reservation Dogs Season 1 airs on FX on Hulu. The Season 1 finale will arrive on September 20.

Reservation Dogs follows four Indigenous teenagers who live in contemporary Oklahoma and commit petty crimes in order to make their way to California.

D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Devery Jacobs, Paulina Alexis and Lane Factor star. Sterlin Harjo (Barking Water, Four Sheets to the Wind) and Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Thor: Ragnarok) co-created the series and serve as executive producers.

Every writer, director and series regular on the show is also Indigenous. Season 2 will arrive in 2022.

“We couldn’t wait to share Reservation Dogs with viewers and are thrilled that they seem to love it as much as we do. We’re happy to put in an early order for another season,” Nick Grad, president, original programming at FX said in a statement.

“Sterlin Harjo delivered on his creative vision, partnering with Taika Waititi and the rest of the creative team, the brilliant cast and crew to create one of TV’s best new comedies and a groundbreaking showcase of representation and raw talent,” he continued.
