Speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM on the Daybreak Hitz show, Fuse ODG revealed that his songs are not normally found in the nomination lists in award schemes because organizers have completely ignored him.

According to him, he is not being appreciated in Ghana like he should, meanwhile he has been one of the main Ghanaian acts out there putting Ghana on the map and promoting the culture to western lands.

Per his assertions, he said he was able to get one of the biggest musicians in the world, Ed Sheeran on a song and even made him come to Ghana and sing in the native language, Twi but the Ghanaian industry has ignored his achievements.

Fuse ODG also revealed that he is being celebrated in other countries more than in his motherland but his main aim is to have people believe that great things are in Ghana.

However, he claimed not to be bothered about the fact that he barely gets nominated on award shows in Ghana because the plagues, he said are man-made artifacts which are given to artists based on man’s perception, thus artistes should not focus on winning plagues because they turn to be disappointed when they do not get hold of these plagues for their hard works. He advised his fellow Ghanaian artists not to focus on praises but stay motivated and have bigger vision to create a mark in the hearts of their supporters.

Meanwhile in 2018, Fuse ODG won the award for co-writing Ed Sheeran’s ‘Divide’ album which won ‘Best Pop Vocal Album‘ at the 2018 Grammy Awards.
