Lydia Forson has highlighted the part of the Anti-LGBT bill which has been submitted to parliament to be passed into law that annoys her to the core.
The outspoken actress and activist stormed her Facebook page minutes ago (July 23) to expose the folly of the bill and its vast discrimination, when in in fact- other forms of sexual offenses within straight people have been grossly overlooked.
Ghgossip sighted her post on Facebook which reads;
“E be this part that PISSES ME OFF THE MOST!!
You want to talk about the youth being lured into “immoral” activity let’s talk about the men who take advantage of women DAILY!The MEN who have to put their hands up your skirt, squeeze your boobs, slap your ass just because you’re looking for a job.
The men who all but force you into transactional sex and play on your vulnerabilities because of nokofioo. It’s because too many women are shy to speak on their experiences and some have convinced themselves that there can’t be any other way so they just go with it.
The people leading this will never call out any of their friends who do this; they will tell you that the women want it because they want money, knowing full well that half of the women won’t be kissing these ugly frogs if not because of money.
Poverty makes everyone desperate, so if you to punish anyone, punish the people to take advantage of others desperation.”
The bill officially called the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill 2021, will see culprits face a jail term of up to ten years depending on the crime, if passed in its current state.
The bill is sponsored by Ningo–Prampram lawmaker Sam George; Kpando Member of Parliament, Della Adjoa Sowah; Ho West MP Emmanuel Bedzrah; John Ntim Fordjour, MP, Assin South; South Dayi MP Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, MP for Tamale North Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini, MP for Krachi West Helen Adjoa Ntoso and Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, MP for La Dadekotopon.
