The Corruption trial of former South African President, Jacob Zuma, is scheduled to resume today.

However, amid deadly riots over his jailing for contempt, the court, according to local media reports in South Africa, is planning to hold a virtual hearing to avoid “disruption.”

The corruption trial is focusing on the so-called 1999 “arms deal,” in which Zuma is accused of pocketing hundreds of thousands of US dollars in bribes from the French defense giant, Thales.

Over 100 people have reportedly died in riots in recent days over the jailing of Mr Zuma. Over 800 people have reportedly been arrested.
