July 6 (UPI) — A South Carolina man said he had a hard time believing he had won a $150,000 lottery jackpot after a previous incident in which he mistakenly thought he had won big.

The Goose Creek man told South Carolina Education Lottery officials he bought his $2 Giant Jumbo Bucks scratch-off ticket from the Parkers store in Goose Creek and scratched it off on his way to work.

The player said he initially was in disbelief when he saw the $150,000 jackpot. He said a previous experience where he mistakenly thought he had won a jackpot left him wary.

“It wasn’t really real until the check was in my hand,” the winner said.

The Parkers store was awarded a $1,500 commission for selling the winning ticket.
