GHAMRO is a royalties collection agency that represents the rights of music copyright holders. The agency’s aim is to collects royalties for all rights owners in Ghana and distributes them to the rightful owners.
The agency has come under a lot of criticisms as many musicians in the country always attacks them for not been able to live up to expectations as in collecting royalties from the various media houses and distributes it to them.
Mr. Logic speaking as a pundit this morning on the ‘Day Break Hitz’ show on Hitz FM hosted by renowned disc jockey and musician Andy Dosty stated GHAMRO should start closing down media houses that have refused to pay their royalties.
He said it’s about time the agency starts taking action against these media houses and the only way these media houses will take the agency seriously and pay their royalties fees is when the agency starts to close down any media house that owes them.
According to the controversial entertainment pundit, the various media houses in the country contribute to the downfall of GHAMRO as most of them are owing the agency a huge sum of money.
