Ghanaian musician Captain Planet is preaching against the rampant nature of youth indulging in the smoking of weed, shisha and the regular intake of liquor.

According to him, these substances, in the long run, affect key organs of the human body like the heart and brain thus the youth need to appreciate this fact and desist from it.

Tweeting the side effects of smoking, Captain Planet bemoaned the trend of almost every youth trying to take some substances into their system be it weed or liquor. He intimated that the youth needs to be educated and counselled on the harmful effect of smoking and helped to stop.

“1 hour), a shisha smoker can inhale the same amount of toxins as a cigarette smoker consuming over 100 cigarettes. Like cigarette smoking, these toxins put shisha smokers at risk of developing heart and circulatory diseases, cancers, nicotine addiction, and other health effects,” Captain Planet tweeted.

Captain Planet also shared very important educative materials on smoking and its effect and used his position as an influential Ghanaian to sound a warning to the youth to quit smoking, the inhaling and exhaling of shisha and the drinking of liquor.

Ironically, many of these youth disagreed with him in the comment section and reiterated their decision to continue smoking since they find nothing wrong with it.

Actually, many felt Captain Planet is tryna be a hypocrite because they feel he also smokes low key. Also, they said until the likes of Sarkodie and Shatta Wale are advised to quit smoking, they ain’t quitting.

Does Sarkodie smoke? While we cannot give an emphatic answer, the rapper has given many reasons to believe that he smokes, recent photos he had shared give proof.
