MTN extends community engagement to Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area

Wassa Akropong (W/R), May 29, GNA – MTN Ghana has extended its community engagement programme to the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area in the Wassa Amenfi East Municipality of the Western Region.

The programme is to seek the views of customers, update them on the company’s operations and solicit feedback.
Mr Kennedy Kofi Ofosuhene, Corporate Services Adviser of MTN Ghana, during the engagement at Wassa Akropong, took the chiefs and queen mothers through the various products and services of the company.
He said the programme would help the firm to understand the needs of each valued customers to enable them to craft products and services to suit their needs.
The Corporate Services Adviser said, “this year MTN is 25 years and we have set aside US$25 million for projects named legacy projects, hence MTN would want to know the needs of communities from their opinion leaders so that we could support community development.”
Mr Ofosuhene thanked the traditional rulers for the immense support since the inception of MTN in Ghana and pledged to serve them better in the years ahead.
Some chiefs expressed disappointment with the network challenges in their communities.
The corporate services adviser, on his part, promised to provide them with a 4G router on all the sites to enable them to receive the best reception on their network.
“This programme has allowed us to meet all the chiefs and queen mothers in Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area. It is a good one and MTN is so grateful,” he said.
Mr Ofosuhene explained that the MTN Ghana Foundation during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic made several interventions to lessen the impact of disease on the economy.
He said the Foundation donated Personal Protective Equipment to 15 Senior High Schools and 29 hospitals.
He added that MTN would continue to aid the government and their communities to limit the spread of the disease in the country.
The Omanhene of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, implored MTN to expand coverage to all the communities.
He also urged Ghanaians to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 safety protocols outlined by healthcare professionals.
