Ghanaian musician, Gregory Bortey Newman who is known as King Promise has sent some harsh words to his critics.
According to him, anyone who doesn’t like his songs doesn’t like good music and there is nothing he can do about that.
The award-winning musician made this known in a recent interview he had with the popular Ghanaian presenter, Andy Dosty on Hitz FM.
He indicated that he takes his time to do his songs suggesting that he expects people to like it since they are good music.
He said;
“When people bash Ghanaian musicians, I sometimes feel they are not enlightened enough. However, I see that they are entitled to their opinions. I do not let the criticism bother me.
The mentality from the inception has been not to care about awards. I would have been broken by now if I paid attention to awards.
I am the most streamed Ghanaian artiste of all time. I am making my money from streams, shows and deals. Not winning awards do not get to me that much. I am not saying I am not down to doing collaborations. I just have to like the song.
The music we dey do, if you no dey like am, then e be you you nor know good music. Cos we really dey take wonna time dey produce wonna music. I am a music lover music. I really love music.”
