Ghanaian musician, Gregory Bortey Newman who is widely known in showbiz as King Promise has bragged about being the most-streamed Ghanaian artiste of all time.
The award-winning musician made this known in a recent interview he had on the popular Ghanaian radio station, Hitz FM.
According to him, he is the most streamed Ghanaian artiste of all time adding that he is making his money from streams, shows and deals and not winning awards.
In his submission, he said;
“When people bash Ghanaian musicians, I sometimes feel they are not enlightened enough. However, I see that they are entitled to their opinions. I do not let the criticism bother me.
What I am trying to do with this Sony deal is, I want to prove to them that we also have good music down here in Ghana
The mentality from the inception has been not to care about awards. I would have been broken by now if I paid attention to awards.
I am the most streamed Ghanaian artiste of all time. I am making my money from streams, shows and deals. Not winning awards do not get to me that much.
I am not saying I am not down to doing collaborations. I just have to like the song.”
