Renowned Ghanaian blogger, Kobby Kyei has shared his thoughts about the ongoing #FixYourself debate.

The media personality shared his views in a recent submission in a radio interview on the Ghanaian radio station, Hitz FM.

In his submission, he questioned why some people will be defending the government to the point that they will be asking people who are calling on them to fix the country to rather fix themselves first.

In his submission, he said;

“You are our leader. We voted for you. The FixYourself conversation is a non-starter. The leaders are supposed to be responsible for us. Yes we have to fix ourselves but what are our leaders doing?

Recently, the police said they were going to hold Christ Embassy responsible for the event organized. We have patrol teams around the city. Are we going to say they didn’t know an event that wasn’t supposed to happen happened?

The police is saying that the demonstration is not going to happen. But they are forgetting that social media is powerful — We are going to reach a position where this issue is going to be solved.

How many times have you seen leaders in this country having conversations with the youth when it is not time for elections? How are they engaging with the youth to know their problems?

We need to build generational power and generational thinkers! We need to work on our law enforcement in this country— it is a big problem.

Long time we had Dumsor, Galamsey issues. Now these issues keep returning and successive governments are not resolving it. At least, one government should be able to say ‘I am fixing this problem once and for all.’
