The renowned movie personality made this known in a recent post he made on his verified social media handle on the popular social media platform, Twitter.

According to him, he is so so confused with what’s going on in West Africa and he proceeded to quiz about if the average income is $100-$200 a month, then why aren’t there affordable homes with mortgages ranging from $25-$50 a month.

he made reads;

“I’m so confused with what’s going on in west Africa, if the average income is $100-$200 a month why aren’t there affordable homes with mortgages ranging from $25-$50 a month?”

Netizens who saw the post shared their varied thoughts about it. Some of these reactions are;

@Callmebaffour – They want the citizens poor and hopeless so they can lure them with political campaign promises

@shinamemud – It disturbing to be honest. But the culture loan is slowly building and it’s only a matter of time before it spreads across especially in Nigeria

@KanyNusrat – That’s our problem. Rent is killing us. I wish i can build and collect money on monthly basis to ease that 2 to 4 years advance payment.

@rumarc1987 – The system was not designed to run on mortgages in the first place. You buy a house, car or even the latest phone, you must pay in full cash. Very unstable economies find it difficult running mortgage systems

@obie9octavious – The think people that live abroad pluck money off trees hence the exorbitant housing prices. The price of land alone in Ghana can buy a whole!!!!! House overseas

@citizenyao – Debt service ratio is max. 50%. The question is, will $75 dollars pay your health insurance, pay for utility bills, feed the family, pay for mortgage insurance and still left with some for savings?

@arniejones11 – The raw materials needed to build a home are more expensive than that because most of the commodities used in making them are in a global market. The people there are also under banked so mortgages aren’t readily available.
