Luanda — One Hundred and twenty youths were recently recruited and employed by a new restaurant management that was inaugurated last Friday, in Luanda, by the Hotels and Tourism minister, Pedro Mutindi.
The restaurant, whose name is Chitaka, is located in Luanda downtown.
This number of recruited youths, most of whom are females, represents 99 percent of the manpower, as revealed by Gualter Camelo, one of the associates of the business group that owns the hotel.
“The appearance of this project, which is estimated at USD 6.5 million, is a substantial action that comes to join the various projects that the Angolan executive and the hotels and tourism sector, in particular, have developed in the ambit of the national reconstruction programme”, he assured.
This undertaking, he added, has a certain socioeconomic value because it comes to contribute significantly to the fight against unemployment, famine and poverty, in light of the governmental programme aimed at improving the living conditions of the people.
Gualter Camelo thanked the special support of the Hotels and Tourism Ministry for the materialisation of the project, assuring that the initiative of his business group will be extended to other provinces of the country.
