Luanda — Commercials with alcoholic content and other morally questionable publicities should compulsorily be aired by televisions and radios only after 11 p.m.

This was defended last Wednesday in Luanda by journalists who attended a meeting that served to discuss the new Bill on Media Work.

According to the journalists, commercials on alcoholic drinks are normally aggressive and destructive, so there is a need to be cautious about this kind of publicity.

As example, the journalist Lando Manuel said that the television commercial attracts a lot of people and so an alcoholic content publicity can influence many youths to drink alcohol.

To Pedro Manuel, the government should take this issue seriously, so mechanisms must be created having into account the increase in the level of alcohol consumption.

In his turn, the chairman of the Physicians Order, Carlos Alberto, who was invited to the discussion, said the commercial of alcoholic drinks should be aired from 10.30 p.m weekdays and 11.30 pm at weekends.
