Lubango — The executive committee of the parliamentary forum of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) is meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare the documents to be submitted to the 29th plenary session of this organ set for 9-10 June in Lubango city in Huíla province.
Angop learnt on Tuesday that the works of the mentioned session started on Monday with the meeting of the managing committee, aimed at assessing the activities of the three Sub-committees on Human Resources, Legal and Financial sectors.
During two days, the committee will define the policies, programmes and regulations of SADC parliamentary forum, whose establishment will top the discussion of 120 delegates.
The SADC Parliamentary Forum was established on September 8, 1997, during the SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government, held in Windhoek, Namibia.
Founded in 1980, SADC is comprised by 14 member countries such as Angola, Botswana, DR Congo, Lesotho, Mozambique, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
