Brazzaville — An Angolan delegation is attending since Monday in Brazzaville the first International 2011 forum on power (ElectricCA2011) in Congo Brazzaville.
After the inaugural ceremony, the participants visited the stands, as well as they seized the opportunity to watch a video on the potentials of the Angolan greatest dam of Kapanda.
Under the high authority of the Economic Community of Central African States (CEEAC) and under the High Patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Congo, ElectriCA is a regional event focussing on the Economic Community of Central African States (CEEAC): Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sao Tome and Principe and Chad.
This event is organised by the Power Pool of Central Africa (PEAC), with support from the Technical Assistance Mission of the European Union (MAT / PEAC) in association with the UK Company that organised the event AME Trade Limited.
ElectriCA will gather the Ministers of Energy, the General Directors of electricity companies of the member countries of the CEEAC, international investors, donor bodies, development partners, electricity industry experts, legal advisors, equipment suppliers and other professionals.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging investment in the electricity sector, to exchange experiences and discuss ways to achieve objectives, including increasing access to reliable and cheap electricity for the people of Africa Central and the establishment of a regional electricity market.
The Angolan delegation, which is being led by the head of the international exchange office of the Ministry of Energy and Waters, Pierre Kiala, is comprised by the chargé d’affairs of the Angolan embassy in Congo Brazzaville, Aly Moamba Mukeny.
