In their quest to find the successor to Steven Gerrard, Liverpool have reportedly made changes to their youth academy set-up in a bid to have the senior and junior teams interact more.

According to the News of the World, the change comes from Reds director of football Damien Comolli who has kept an eye on the matter.

While the reserves will now train at Kirkby only, the first team stays put until provisional talks about a move from Melwood is made.

Senior figures at the club back the move as they believe it would be more beneficial to patch up the divide between Melwood and The Academy but it would prove problematic and expensive.
