Black Stars defender, Nicholas Opoku put in a composed and efficient performance Kasimpasa’s 2-1 away defeat to Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Ghanaian defender was tidy and reliable in possession, recording 58 touches and completing all 48 of his passes in the game at the Papara Park in Trabzon.

Opoku was equally precise in advanced areas, completing 3 out of 3 passes in the final third, while also nailing 6 accurate long passes, underlining his calm distribution from the back.

Defensively, he made his presence felt with five clearances and one interception, helping Kasimpasa withstand pressure for large spells.

However, it was a difficult outing in duels, as he failed to win his two aerial contests and one ground duel.

Kasimpasa’s task was made harder after midfielder Kerem Demirbay was sent off for two bookable offences, leaving the visitors to play the closing stages with ten men.

Trabzonspor capitalised to secure the win, moving up to third place in the league standings.

Kasimpasa, meanwhile, remain 15th on the table with 16 points, but Opoku was rated 6.3.
