Chelsea are still pushing to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo but one source has told Sky Sports News a transfer in January seems very unlikely as the clubs are “not in the same ball park” regarding valuations.

Brighton have no intention of selling the 21-year-old in this window.

The Ecuador international has two-and-a-half years left on his contract and is unlikely to sign a new one. As a result, Brighton will be doing due diligence on a potential succession plan.

RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose says midfielder Amadou Haidara will not leave this month amid reported interest from Brighton.

Gusto staying at Lyon this season

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas insists right-back and Chelsea target Malo Gusto is staying at the Ligue 1 club until at least the summer.

“I have the pleasure of confirming … but also of specifying that Malo, a great hope for OL, will continue to play with us until at least 06/30/23,” he said on Twitter.

Could Havertz leave Chelsea this summer?

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg on The Transfer Show:

“The fees Chelsea are spending are incredible and a lot of clubs in Germany can only dream of having this capability but we don’t have these sorts of numbers here.

“Chelsea’s spending is very much a headline over here because it can have an indirect impact on German clubs.

“When you consider the salaries and the contract durations, the feeling is that Chelsea will be a big player in the summer market over here. Thinking of Kai Havertz, he could be a player who doesn’t have faith in the squad at Chelsea and could make another step.

“I’ve heard that Kai is very happy with the Chelsea boss [Graham Potter] at this stage and he’s very ambitious but I’ve heard there could be a transfer in the summer for around €60m. We’ll have to see where he fits into the new Chelsea. But we’re also hearing that Bayern Munich are not interested in signing him.”

Everton want Chelsea winger Ziyech

Everton want to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech and one source has told Sky Sports News they are ready to pay up to £25m.

Chelsea are considering letting him go but Everton have denied making a bid.

Everton are looking for potential replacements for Anthony Gordon. Newcastle in talks with the club over the winger.

One source has told Sky Sports News that deal is getting closer.

Roma keen on Ziyech

Roma are interested in signing Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech, say Sky in Italy.

With Tottenham keen on in their young winger Nicolo Zaniolo, Roma are assessing potential replacements, of which Ziyech is one.

The Morocco international’s future at Stamford Bridge has become uncertain after they signed two new wingers this month.

The 29-year-old played at right wing-back against Liverpool at the weekend but new right-winger Noni Madueke was not registered in time to play.

They also have Raheem Sterling, who is currently out injured, in that position.

A transfer is difficult for Roma, Sky in Italy say, due to his high wages at Chelsea.

Liverpool interested in summer move for Mount

Chelsea have stepped up contract talks with Mason Mount amid interest from Liverpool in a summer move for the midfielder, according to The Guardian.

The 24-year-old has 18 months on his Chelsea deal but the Blues are reportedly yet to meet his wage demands with Liverpool prepared to act on their interest in the England international if there is no resolution in talks.

The report also claims Juventus are interested in Mount, who has been at Chelsea since the age of six.

Gallagher to return to Palace?

Crystal Palace are among a number of Premier League clubs interested in signing Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

There are suggestions the England midfielder could leave Stamford Bridge this month – possibly on an initial loan – as Chelsea continue to add to their squad in January.

Sky Sports News has been told a firm decision on whether Gallagher can leave Chelsea has not yet been made by the club.

The Daily Mail reports Gallagher has “no desire to leave the club” despite enquiries from a number of Premier League suitors.

With French star Marcus Thuram linked with a move to the Premier League, here are his best Bundesliga moments.

Chelsea remain keen on Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach, despite the Bundesliga side remaining convinced the forward will stay at the club in January, according to the Daily Mail.

The Blues contacted Thuram’s representatives earlier in the window as they seek reinforcements to Graham Potter’s attack.

Thuram is out of contract in the summer and could opt to leave as a free agent, with the 25-year-old attracting interest from a number of European clubs.

However, Gladbach boss Daniel Farke told Gladbach Live: “If we’re talking about Marcus now, I don’t think there are that many clubs that particularly appeal to him.

“You can never rule out anything in this business but I am very, very sure that he will play a very, very good second half of the season for us.”
