Real Salt Lake have re-signed goalkeeper Zac MacMath to a two-year contract extension, the club announced Wednesday.

MacMath’s new deal keeps him at America First Field through the 2024 MLS season, with RSL holding an option on 2025.

At 31 years old, MacMath emerged as a starter last season in place of David Ochoa – who eventually left for DC United. The Florida native quickly established himself among the most consistent goalkeepers in Major League Soccer, making 99 saves and keeping 10 clean sheets.

“I’m very excited to extend my stay here in Utah for three more years,” MacMath said in a statement. “We have created a great culture around the club, and I hope to continue to add to that culture for years to come.”

MacMath played a key role in helping RSL reach the MLS Cup Playoffs for the second year running, with the club falling in Round One to Austin FC in a penalty shootout.

The goalkeeper is now preparing for his 13th season in MLS having previously represented the Philadelphia Union, Colorado Rapids, and Vancouver Whitecaps, as well as being capped extensively by the United States across various youth levels.

RSL begin their 2023 campaign away at the Vancouver Whitecaps on February 25.
