Emma Raducanu now has a clearer view of the demands of the WTA Tour and hopes that experience will help her have a better 2023 season. Raducanu, who turned 20 in October, played her first full season on the WTA Tour in 2022.

Throughout the entire 2022 season, Raducanu was battling injuries and physical setbacks. Coming off an offseason in which she focused on getting stronger, Raducanu is looking forward to a healthier and more successful 2023 season.

“It definitely seemed very hectic to me, because of how intense the tour was, and on top of it. A lot of times you don’t feel ready for the game or the tournament, but you still have to keep going. It’s non-stop, there are no breaks.

It was difficult for me to continue. Each tournament demanded a little more from me, and one of the things that was hardest for me was dealing with injuries. So my goal for 2023 is to stay healthy for longer. I am looking forward to working hard, because now I know better what awaits me.

So I’ll be less nervous,” Raducanu told the WTA Tour website. Raducanu, who last year reached the 10th position, the best of her career, is now the 78th in the world. In addition, Raducanu has not achieved a win since her participation in the 2021 US Open.

In an interview with the WTA website, Raducanu admitted that one of her goals for 2023 is to win at least one title. This week, Raducanu kicks off her 2023 season at the Auckland ASB Classic. After Auckland, Raducanu will travel to Melbourne to play the Australian Open.

Now Raducanu is stronger and more experienced.

Raducanu wants to shine again

During a pre-tournament press conference at the ASB Classic in Auckland, Emma Raducanu admitted to being more involved with her non-tennis commitments.

“The other things around me have changed a lot. So I’ve become extremely busy… that’s probably the biggest thing,” the former US Open champion told the press at the ASB Classic in Auckland. “I’m probably more in the public eye, but it comes with the territory and I wouldn’t change it for what happened,” the Brit stated.

Raducanu worked very hard during the pre-season and it remains to be seen if that will lead to more success for the British tennis star in 2023. The 20-year-old Brit wants to recapture the game that led her to win the US Open in 2021 in impressive fashion. , a tournament that saw her win from the qualifying phase and that catapulted her to the top.
