During his career, Agassi won 60 titles and spent 101 weeks at the top of the Tour standings. Here are his words to the ATP Tennis Radio podcast. US former star explained: “Tennis is a kind of job that gives you great lessons in life.
I mean, I’ve really enjoyed it in the almost 20 years I’ve been playing it, even if I’ve also had a tough time with it. I think overall within this sport you build relationships to love and understand how much you have to lose.”
André Agassi has won eight Grand Slam titles and is one of the strongest tennis players of his generation. Before the advent of the Big Three, he, together with compatriot Pete Sampras, shaped an era and married tennis legend Steffi Graf.
And to think Agassi lost his first three Grand Slam finals and got his first success at Wimbledon 1992 where he beat giant Goran Ivanisevic in the final, after a five set battle. Meanwhile, the greatest stars of tennis are ready for the new season: the firts important step will be the Australian Open, with Novak Djokovic’s come back after the ban of this season.
