Second career title on the DP World Tour for Adrian Meronk who in Melbourne, with a total of 268 (73 66 63 66, -14) strokes, won the ISPS HANDA Australian Open, beating the Australians Adam Scott (former number 1 in the world in 2014 and leader after the third round) and Min Woo Lee, who finished the competition respectively in 2nd and 3rd place with 273 (-9) and 274 (-8).
The first Pole to conquer this competition, Meronk started the fourth round with a blow to recover from Scott. And in the last 18 holes he made four birdies and two bogeys, with an eagle show on the 18th to round off the contest.

“I’m over the moon, it’s an incredible victory that comes after a fantastic week”, Meronk gleefully. Born in Hamburg (Germany) on May 31, 1993, professional since 2016, he celebrated his second success on the circuit after the one that arrived last July at the Irish Open.
An important victory for Meronk, among the youngsters most followed by Luke Donald, captain of the Europe team, in view of the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome. Adrian was born in the German city of Hamburg. His father played golf there. When he was two years old, he moved with his parents to Poznań and then to Wrocław. At first, Adrian practiced various team sports, but once he tried golf and liked it.
He had no problems adapting to this discipline. At the age of 16, Welsh coach Matthew Tipper came to the Toya Golf resort and made Adrian aware that he could get a golf scholarship at an American college. A group of several players was formed, who trained four hours a day.
Most of them gave up these trainings and only Adrian remained. Later, he began to achieve junior successes, after which he was noticed by scouts from the United States of America. Wanting to develop himself in the golf direction, he decided to fly to another continent.
He chose East Tennessee State School and graduated in 2016. After graduation, he turned professional, competing in the Challenge Tour competition, after which he was promoted to the European Tour.
