To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Atimaono golf course in Tahiti, the club organized 3 days of festivities with several competitions on the program.

Night golf, Pitch & Putt, rowing-golf (!), adult-child challenge and closing concert, the party was in full swing at Atimaono for the 50th anniversary of the club located in the town of Papara in Tahiti.
The players competed in a very relaxed atmosphere on the Polynesian course from November 17 to 19. Created in the 1970s on the west coast of the Big Island, the “Olivier Bréaud” international golf course was built on a former cotton plantation.
FYI there is a second course in French Polynesia. An 18-hole course, located in Moorea and designed by the firm of Jack Nicklaus (Nicklaus Design). It came out of the ground in 2007. It takes 10 minutes of flight to connect Tahiti to Moorea and then reach the nearby Moorea Green Pearl.
Tahiti is the largest island in the Wind Islands group of French Polynesia, located in the Society Islands archipelago in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean. The island, of volcanic origin, high and mountainous, surrounded by coral reefs, is the economic, cultural and political center of French Polynesia, with a population of 189 517 inhabitants (2017 census), thus becoming the most populous island in French Polynesia, accounting for 68.6% of the group’s total population.
The capital Papeete is located on the northwest coast with the region’s only international airport, Fa’a’ā International Airport, located 5km outside the center. Tahiti was originally colonized by Polynesians between 300 and 800 AD, who account for about 70% of the island’s population, with the remainder being Europeans, Chinese, and mestizos.
The island was then proclaimed a French colony in 1880, although it was only in 1946 that the indigenous Tahitians were made French citizens. French is the only official language, although the Tahitian language (Reo Tahiti) is widely spoken.
Tahiti is located 4423 km south of Hawaii, 7900 km from Chile and 5700 km from Australia. The island at its widest point measures 45 km and covers an area of 1045 km². The highest peak is Mount Orohena (2241m). Mount Ronui, in the south-east, reaches 1332 m.
