Maria Sharapova visited the Antelope Canyon with her family. The former Russian tennis superstar posted pictures from her adventure in the Arizona-located canyon. “Otherworldly,” Sharapova captioned the photos.

Alexander Gilkes, Sharapova’s fiance, reacted with a heart emoji to the photos posted by Maria.

Novak Djokovic, who recently lost the Paris Masters title, liked Maria’s post.

Sharapova became a mother this year

Former world No 1 Maria Sharapova feels “being yourself” is the best advice she can pass on to her son.

Sharapova, 35, became a mother for the first time this past summer when she and her fiance Alexander Gilkes welcomed a baby boy named Theodore. Sharapova, a former tennis superstar and one of the world’s most marketable athletes, was questioned by NewBeauty about the lessons she learnt while in the spotlight and the counsel she would provide to her kid.

“I do think that being yourself is ultimately the best advice. I’ve tried to carry that with me; I’ve tried to never pretend to be someone that I’m not. I think authenticity—particularly in today’s society where we are bombarded by so many influences—is key.

All these different influences, good and bad, can very quickly make you want to try to be something you’re not. It’s important to know who you are and to find out what it is that you love about yourself, and what it is that you want to say, as opposed to what others would want you to say.

And continue to be curious. I think that’s so important in life. Never be the smartest one in the room, always give yourself room to grow. Those two things are the biggest,” Sharapova told NewBeauty. Sharapova’s baby boy is now four months old.
