By Brian Webber: Trainer Malik Scott believes Robert Helenius is going to use the same tactics that Tyson Fury utilized when he faces him next month on October 15th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Scott thinks the 6’6″ Helenius is going to try and use his Fury-esque size to back the thinner Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) to wear him down. Malik warns that if Helenius (31-3, 20 KOs) tries that tactic, he’s going to get cleaned out and will wake up later wondering what happened.

Wilder vs. Helenius will be the main event on FOX Sports pay-per-view. Scott says that if Wilder is victorious, he wants him to challenge IBF, WBA & WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk next or Anthony Joshua.

Malik is not interested in Wilder facing former unified champion Andy Ruiz Jr next because it’s not a fight that will have a world title on the line.

“He’s going to try and use the Tyson Fury tactics by pushing D back. We know he’s not that type of fighter, but he’s going to try it against Deontay because he seen someone else have success with his same body stature,” said Malik Scott to Fighthype on what he believes Robert Helenius will try on October 15th.

“If he’s adamant about doing what he says he’s going to do, he’s going to find out very early in this fight that’s not going to happen. He’s going to find out what it feels like to get hit by that man [Wilder] with 10-ounce gloves on under the lights with 20,o00 people cheering.

“It’s a whole different environment. Helenius knows who Deontay is. He sparred him, but he’s not a good spar, Helenius. That’s why he’s very dangerous. You can go in there and have great days against him, but that’s not who he is.

“He shows up on the night, and that’s why. But what makes us dangerous is I know who he is. Me knowing who he is and Deontay knowing who he is, it makes us very much more prepared. The more prepared we are, the more dangerous we are.

“The more disciplined Deontay is, the more dangerous he is. The second half of his career, I want it to be very fun, very fun. That’s what we’re aiming at and starting off as well.

“Either way, he’s getting out of there, but if he’s adamant about coming forward and trying the Tyson Fury tactics, he’s going to find out very, very early, and he’s going to wake up and realize it’s all over.

“You got to be yourself. You’re not Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury is not you. It’s two different animals. Deontay is really motivated, he’s working really hard, and we’ve got a very dangerous opponent in front of us, Helenius.

“He’s so dangerous that in an interview years ago when Emanuel [Steward] praised Deontay and Fury, in that same interview, 30 seconds later, he said, ‘There’s another guy, Robert Helenius, who is pretty, pretty good, and I like him as well.’ Years late, we’re sitting here fighting him.

“I’ve been film studying him for years because I was supposed to fight him at one time. I always think about his style because he does high hands, he does control stuff, and he does good pivots. He does good feints.

“So the kind of style he fights is very sufficient for a big man. It’s our job to offset him, it’s our job to make a statement, and it’s our job to get rid of him, dress him up and take him out. That’s what Deontay is going to do,” said Malik.

“Robert (Helenius) has been on a winning streak, and he’s here; I’ve been hearing he’s supposed to be the mandatory for (Oleksandr) Usyk, but I know he’s coming with his A+++ game,” said Wilder.
