Serena Williams revealed a funny dating anecdote while reflecting on her retirement from tennis. On The Tonight Show, Williams revealed that she actually envisioned her retirement would be just one day walking away from the game quietly.

“No, I always thought that at the end of it, I would just leave quietly and not say anything or make an announcement on social media or something. That’s how I always thought about it,” Williams said on The Tonight Show.

Jimmy Fallon then asked Williams if she was the type to leave the party without notifying anyone. “Yeah, I mean if it’s not happening, if you’re not playing the right music, I’m out of here,” Williams answered.

Williams: I actually did that once on a date

“I’ve done that actually, on a date once. Well, I was not having a great date. I just went to the bathroom,” Williams said. “And never came back? (Both laugh),” Fallon asked.

Williams answered: “I’m yet to go back.”

Also, Williams gave a sneak peek into into her retirement plans.

Williams underlined that retiring from tennis doesn’t mean that she is now planning to just sit down and do nothing in her life. “I think retirement is something that is super-earned that people work really hard for.

I’m at an age where I definitely have more to give and there is a lot more that I want to do,” Williams said. “I’m not gonna be relaxing, there is so much for me. I feel it’s more of an evolution of Serena and there are so many things that I have been wanting to do for so many years.

I have such a passion for tennis for so long that I’ve never done it. But now it’s time for me to like start to enjoy those things.” In post-tennis life, Williams plans to focus on business and family.
