The 21-time Major winner Novak Djokovic joined an extended list of notable players who have congratulated Carlos Alcaraz on his first Major title. A teenager conquered the US Open as the seventh-youngest Major winner in the Open era, earning 2000 points and becoming the youngest world no.

1 in ATP history! Djokovic praised Alcaraz and his performance, congratulating him on his incredible achievement. Carlos needed only eight tournaments to lift the first Major crown, using a favorable draw in the opening three rounds and working hard after that to emerge at the top.

The youngster toppled Marin Cilic, Jannik Sinner and Frances Tiafoe in five sets to advance into the title clash.

Novak Djokovic congratulated Carlos Alcaraz on winning the US Open.

Sinner had a match point against Alcaraz on his serve at 5-4 in the fourth set, which was not enough to propel him over the top.

Carlos endured all the obstacles and spent hours on the court ahead of the decisive Casper Ruud clash. Preserving enough energy, the Spaniard produced a 6-4, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 triumph in three hours and 20 minutes for a place in the history books.

Two rivals were battling for the first Major title and the ATP throne, giving their best to emerge at the top. There were three breaks of serve on each side, and Carlos won five points more than Casper. The Spaniard fired 55 winners and 41 unforced errors and kept the points on his racquet with an aggressive approach.

Ruud had a massive chance to build two sets to one advantage, wasting two set points in the third set’s 12th game and losing steam in the fourth. Carlos broke at 1-1 in the first set and landed a service winner at 5-4 to wrap it up.

Casper saved a break point at 2-2 in the second set and took charge from there. The Norwegian grabbed four consecutive games and claimed the set 6-2 to boost his chances. They traded early breaks in the third set and served well until game 12.

Alcaraz had no room for errors at 5-6 when he experienced two set points. Staying ice-cold, the Spaniard defended them with winners and clinched the tie break 7-1 to get closer to the finish line. Carlos served well in all five games in the fourth set and stole the rival’s serve in game six to move 4-2 in front. A teenager blasted a powerful serve at 5-3 to seal the deal and become the seventh-youngest Major champion.
